Mahdokht Mahmoudabadi, Editor

Mahdokht (she/her) is a New York–based editor originally from Iran, specializing in archival documentaries. With a strong commitment to telling underrepresented stories, she brings both a sharp editorial eye and a distinct cultural perspective to her work. A classically trained musician, Mahdokht blends artistic sensitivity with technical precision, crafting emotionally resonant narratives.

Her most recent feature, The Encampments, received a Special Mention Award at CPH:DOX and enjoyed successful theatrical runs in the U.S. and internationally. She is a 2025 Berlinale Talents participant, selected for the prestigious Edit Studio, and has contributed to several Emmy-winning and nominated documentaries, including Turning Point (Netflix) and The Man Who Feeds Gaza’s Children (Business Insider, 2025 News & Documentary Emmy Winner).
